I have only been here previously with a camera when the park was teaming with cross country runners or picnickers. It’s an entirely different experience in the off season when you have the place almost all to yourself. Since this was my son’s “home” cross country course in high school, I can almost see the ghosts of past cross country meets in some of these pictures. This is home to Cardiac Hill, Snake Hill, and Hernia Hill and is rated one of the toughest courses in the nation. Last time I checked, he holds the 5th fastest collegiate time on this course from a race his freshman year at Fordham. On a day in February, it is quite peaceful. I will have to go back soon and take some pictures on the Long Island Sound side of the park. On a clear day, you can see Connecticut from there.
